In South Korea elected a new President
South Korea has made a momentous choice – according to preliminary results of counting of votes, the President of the country was 60-year-old Park Geun-Hye of the right of the saenuri party, reports Yonhap.
News of the victory of Park Geun-Hye flew after the announcement of the results of processing just over 80% of the ballots. According to available data, she wins with a slight margin, gaining 51.6 per cent. According to preliminary data, in elections has taken part 75,8% of the voting citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is much higher than in the previous presidential election in 2007, when the polling came in 63% of voters, ITAR-TASS reported.
The President of South Korea is elected for five years and only once. The name of the winner will be known on Thursday, and he will officially become the authority in February 2013. Then Park Geun-Hye will officially become the first female President in the history of South Korea.
